CONGRATULATIONS TO STEVE SWAIN
Another new champion is crowned, as Steve Swain of Kennett,
Mo became our 2nd champion form Kennett. Steve qualified
5th and was undefeated in the bracket as he faced in order;Terry
Ivy (Jonesboro, AR) 248-185/Chris Cranford (Longview,

Mike Mowrey 238-214. Steve was plus 222 after games of
245/216/267/258/236.
The field of 59 was the largest to date for a stop in
Ark. and we had 19 new bowlers and a record 5 game block
by our high qualifier as Mike Mowrey shot games of 267/280/298/269/279
for plus 393 and an avg. of 278.6. This 5 game block ranks
4th all-time in the nation and he added 268 game 6 which
ranks 3rd all time in the nation. Back to back 800's with
845/816. These along with Ron Booy (Mt.Home) 299 and Chris
Geisler (Jacksonville, AR) 300, gave us 5 honor scores
and the most for one stop. We had 40 bowlers at plus or
better and Pat Allen and his staff did a great job.
The # 16 seed was plus 111 and it came down to the last
frame as # 17 seed, Jonathon Moore (Walnut Ridge, AR)
was plus 101. Blake Devlin a Jr. bowler was our 16 seed
and he had to face Mike and that proved more than the
young man could handle, losing 268-179. Blake was the
first Jr. bowler to make the finals and to cash. His winnings
will go to the SMART program.

Our high non cash senior was Arron Waggoner and he received
60.00 and our high quailfier was Mike and he received
85.00. This stop paid out over 8,000.00 and we raised
467.00 for the Top 16 tournament bringing our total over
$2,700.00 with 3 stops left on this year tour, we hope
to have over 3,500.00 for our top points leaders and that
stop will be Aug 24th at AllFam bowling center in Cabot.
Our next stop is at Enterprise Lanes in Benton, AR on
June the 8th and we have 28 signed up, and this field
will be limited to 78 and we figure no less than 60, as
this is a very high scoring house.
What a great stop this was and Sandy and I want to thank
each and everyone of you who have supported the ASBT and
told your friends about us and the chance to bowl with
the very best not only in the state of AR but in a five
state area.
With 70 or more bowlers the ASBT will offer a $200.00
bonus for a 300 game shot anytime during the finals..............DRESS
CODE WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS BONUS!!!
DO NOT WAIT TILL THE DEADLINE OF JUNE 4TH AS THIS STOP
MIGHT FILL UP
Thanks
Greg
Congratulations to Jim Wolcott of Nashville, TN as he
became our newest champion!
This was our first stop that has been full as we had 48
bowlers and want to thank Chris Campagna and his crew
for doing a great job.
The field was very divided with low and high scores. We
had several honor scores as 300 were shot by Jim Wolcott
and Clint Owens (Rogers, AR).
Clint was our high qualifier with games of 287-255-248-225-265
for plus 280. To make the finals it took plus 59 as Billy
West of Russellville AR shot games of 190-217-254-195-203.
We had 27 bowlers at even or better. This stop had nine
new bowlers and we had 5 states represented. Clint lead
from wire to wire during qualifying and he beat Billy
in the first round of the bracket finals 269-178. The
next match was the only bad game of the tournament for
Clint as he lost to Andy Black (Hot Springs AR) 259-185.
This but Clint in the loser bracket were he ran off games
of 300-279-235-216. The 216 also knocked him out of the
tournament as he faced Tony Campagna (Nashville-TN), as
he bowled a 235 to win the match. tony had lost match
one vs Andy 279-257, then he went on a roll in the loser
bracket winning 5 matches before losing to his buddy from
Nashville, Jim Wolcott 256-199. Tony had shot games of
259-279-247-257-235 prior to his match with Jim. The two
had rode together and I feel certain they had plenty to
talk about on the way home.
Jim our number 7 seed faced Robert Felice (Texarkana TX)
our number 10 seed and they both bowled 228 and in the
roll-off Jim struck and Robert knocked down nine. Jim
then beat three time champion Sean Quinn (Topgun MS) 297-236.
Jim then slipped by Steve Swain (Kennett MO) our number
6 seed 202-198. This set up the finals of the winners
bracket as Andy won a very close match 203-202. Jim then
beat Tony in the finals of the loser's bracket 256-199,
setting up a re-match with Andy. Andy posted a 237 and
with a strike/spare in the tenth we would have had a tie
but Jim was flush on both # 10 and 11 and won the match
246-237. The if game was not a close as Andy struggled
to carry and Jim won the match 225-205 and the ASBT trophy
and $1,000.00. This was Jim's second time on the ASBT
as he finished in the top 8 in Memphis.
Here are the payouts and scores and seed/top 16 points
for each of the 12 that cashed.

Again we had 48 bowlers and a very strong field with all
5 states cashing. We continue to add dollars to the top
16 tournament and with 9 new bowlers (90.00) and running
71 brackets (71 x 3.00 = 213.00) and our 50/50 added 66.00
for a total of 369.00 putting us over $2,000.00 for the
tournament to be held at AllFam Bowling Center in Cabot,
AR on the 24th of Aug.
Our high qualifier Clint Owens received 85.00 and our
high non cash senior was Woody Jackson of Fort Smith,

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHAMPION REGGIE RILEY FROM MONTICELLO,
AR
The ASBT has crowned another new champion, Reggie Riley
from Monticello, AR. This makes two stops in a row that
a first timer has won the tournament. With 33 bowlers
at this stop Reggie went undefeated in the bracket finals
and defeated Mark Stanbaugh (Texarkana, Tx) in the finals
235-226, as Mark opened twice in the first 5 frames.
We want to say thanks to Vickie Thompson and her crew
for doing a great job on Sunday as they stepped in an
took an open date for us.
Our top qualifier was Ron Booy(Mt Home, AR) at plus 226
as things changed the last game with some big scores being
shot. Ron reeled off games of 211/279/264/225/247. To
make the finals (top 16) it took plus 93 as Dave Newcomer
(Pearcy, AR) went around several bowlers with a 226 final
game.
Reggie qualified 8th with games of241/215/225/247/235
for plus 163. Reggie faced Horace Childress (Little Rock,
AR) and won 254-181 up next was number one seed Ron Booy
and not close again as Reggie won 248-200, then came the
close matches as Mark Stanbaugh(13th seed) lost 202-198.
This set up the final match in the winners bracket as
our number 7 seed George Schaefer (Bryant, AR) needed
the first strike in the tenth to lock up the win, instead
the shot was light leaving the 2-8. After making the spare
George now needed to strike to tie and he did. In the
tiebreaker (one ball roll-off) George and Reggie both
struck on the first ball, then George left the 3-6-10
and Reggie struck forcing George to the loser side of
the bracket. George had been used to the needing a strike
to advance as in match one he won 226-225 and match 2
he won 227-226, as both matches came down to the last
ball in the tenth and George striking both times to win
the matches. George then lost to Mark Stanbaugh in the
finals of the loser bracket 212-169. Mark had the only
honor score of the tournament vs Cory Smith (NLR, AR)
as Mark won the match 299-235, this gave Cory 4th place
as he was our number 11 seed. Cory was beaten by George
in the semi's of the winners bracket 255-233. Reggie and
Mark in the finals was close in the end as Mark started
a string of strikes in the 6th but it was just a case
of two little two late as Reggie matched him from the
8th frame on.
Here is a list of payouts and seeds and scores as this
stopped paid out over $4,400.00!!!

NEW CHAMPION FROM MEMPHIS, TN MICHAEL BROWNLEE
Memphis proves to be a hotbed for bowlers as we had a
record turnout of 73 bowlers.
It would be a huge under statement to say that Carl Barsotti
(Mgr. of Winchester) did a great job on letting bowlers
know about this stop.
We had 35 new bowlers, and 5 different states were represented.
The scores were high as it took plus 154 to make the cut,
and there were 59 bowlers plus or higher.
Our high qualifier from Bryant, AR was George Schaefer

seed followed George as he lost his first two matches
in the bracket finals. George faced # 16 seed Michael
Shirley (NLR,AR) and lost 246-165, as he never got on
track after the break, losing to seed #8 Tyler Corbin
(Cornith, MS) 230-214. This was the 3rd stop in a row
that the number one seed has been knocked out in two rounds.
Our winner and first time bowler with the ASBT was Michael

went undefeated through the winners bracket. In qualifying
he shot games of 258/210/278/198/236 for plus 180. Michael

seed Michael Shirley went 255-235. Michael then beat #
13 seed from Memphis, Michael Brewer 193-177, up next
in the finals of the winners bracket was Johnny McPhal
from Memphis the number 14 seed and Michael won 214-204.
Johnny then faced Michael Shirley in the finals of the
loser bracket and won 238-172. Michael had came through
the losers bracket with wins over Steven Lutrell 205-187/Matt
Chaddon 223-215/Kurt Sij 233-196/Tyler Corbin 223-216
before losing to Johnny. Johnny was the lone senior to
make the cut and he was plus 158 after qualifying then
he beat Sean Quinn 215-190/Jim Wolcott 235-223/Kurt Sij
279-257, before losing to Michael Brownlee in the finals

Congratulations to Sean Quinn now 5-time Champion!
Hey to all and thanks to the Moore Family for doing a
great job at the Walnut Ridge/Campus Cove stop. With several
first at this stop we set another new mark with 39 bowlers
and 9 new members. Sean Quinn (Tueplo, MS) again was our
champion as he has now won 3 of the 4 stops this year
and he became our first back to back to back champion.
Congratulations to Sean as he almost made it 3 stops without
a loss in bracket play, but George Schaefer(Bryant, AR)
was able to beat him in the finals as George won the first
game 248-235, then the if game had Sean winning 237-223.
This made Sean our first 5 time champion also, as he was
the number 10 seed after qualifying with games of224/212/224/226/248
for plus 134. Sean then won matches against in order with
scores, Kelly Stevens, Jonesboro, 279-180/Robby Patterson,

JD Weller,(Memphis, TN) a first timer on the ASBT was
our top qualifier with games of 247/226/288/228/247
for plus 236 and a total of 1236. This stop proved that
the number one seed is not the place to be as JD was knocked
out in just 2 games, making this the second stop in a
row that our number one seed has gone out after just 2
games. JD earned $85.00 for high qualifier.
Robert Felice (Texarkana, TX) bowled the only honor score
of this stop with a 290.
Mike Mowrey was our number 16 seed at plus 75, as he beat

Greg
Congratulations to Sean Quinn ASBT champion for the fourth
time.
Hey to all,and here are the results of the stop at Bowling
World.
First of all I want to thank Frank Jamison and his staff
for not only going out and recruiting bowlers, but for
having things ready for the ASBT. Thanks so much Frank.
Congratulations to Sean Quinn (Topgun, MS) for being our
first back to back champion.
Sean was our number 16 seed and went unbeaten in the winners
bracket. The scores were very high as it took plus 81
to make the cut. Our leading qualifier was Dirk Gibson
(Little Rock) as he reeled off the highest 5 game block
we have had on the ASBT, with games of
248-300-248-279-265 for plus 340. Steve Stanton (Fort
Smith) was second with plus 223.
Once again we had the a record field of 36 and 27 of them
were plus or better.
We had 2 honor scores shot as Dirk had the 300 game, and
Jeff Atkins (Hot Springs Village) had a 299 game on game
# 4 of qualifying.
The bracket was not kind to Dirk as Sean won that match
259-217, sending Dirk to the loser bracket to face Andy
Mortensen (Bixby OK) seed # 9 and Andy won 232-206. This
left Dirk with the $85.00 for being high qualifier. Dirk
had a very good day in the brackets and lets just say
he left with a smile on his face.
Sean was slow out of the gate as he shot games of 192-198-238-222-231
to edge Anthony Doncheff (Ash Flat) by one pin. In the
bracket Sean was dialed in for sure as he beat in order
Tim Dooley (Fort Smith) seed # 8, 236-216. Up next was
Mike Mowrey (NLR) seed # 12 and the score was 244-178,
then came Ron Booy (Mt. Home) seed # 11 as this was the
finals of the winners bracket and Ron was no match for
Sean as he won 254-187. Ron then beat Mike in the finals
of the loser bracket 248-226, as Mike finished in 3rd
place with Ron in 2nd. Mike had beaten Steve Stanton seed
#2 in the semi's of the loser bracket 227-159, as this
was Steve's first ASBT stop and he finished in 4th place.
Ron had beaten Robert Felice (Texarkana, TX) seed # 6
231-184, then he beat Jeff Atkins (Hot Springs Village)
seed #3, 210-196, up next was Steve Stanton (Fort Smith,
AR) seed # 2, 225-209. Here is the top eight that cashed
and their seed and money won plus points for the top 16,
as we put $349.00 into the top 16 from this stop.
Sean Quinn..............Topgun, MS #16 850.00.plus ASBT
trophy
Ron Booy.................Mt.Home, AR #11 425.00
Mike Mowrey............NLR, AR #12 300.00

Andy Mortensen.......Bixby, OK # 9 150.00
Jeff Atkins................Hot Springs Village # 3 100.00
Tim Dooley..............Fort Smith, AR # 8 100.00
With Dirk Gibson receiving 85.00 for hi qualifier and
Woody Jackson 50.00 for high non cash senior, this stop
paid out over 7,000.00, this by far the largest pay out
to date for an ASBT stop. We ran 76 brackets of which
$3.00 goes into the top 16, along with $10.00 from each
new bowler (11) and we had 21.00 from the 50/50 pot. Thanks
to all that bowled and remember we will be in Walnut Ridge
on Jan 6th at Campus Cove and the field will be limited
to the first 48 that pay a 25.00 deposit.

Results from the Jonesboro stop, Oct 7th
Congratulations to Sean Quinn on winning his third ASBT
title!
Hey to all,and thanks to the 35 bowlers that made the
Jonesboro stop the largest to date ASBT tournament we
have had. The scores were good and bad on the new lanes
at Jonesboro. The new format was great as this format
will be used the rest of the year. A first time ASBT member,
Jeff Williams kicked the scoring off with an 807 series
as he bowled 288/240/279. Jeff from Cape Girardeau, MO
was second in qualifying as Nick Branum from Kennett,
MO led the field with plus 226 for the 5 games as he shot
259/223/249/247/248.
The field was cut to the top 16 for the finals and the
cut line was plus 60. Another first timer Steven Lutrell,
also from Kennett, MO was our number 16 seed.
We had a 290 bowled by Kevin Smith of Jonesboro, AR. Alan
Chetister also converted the 7-10 split. We had 5 first
time ASBT bowlers make the finals at this stop. With 35
bowlers we paid 8 places along with high qualifier Nick
Branum (85.00) and high non-cash senior, Anthony Doncheff,
Ash Flat, AR (50.00).

This stop paid out over 5,000.00 in money, with all the
side action and prize fund along with the 100.00 added
money from Liberty Bank of Jonesboro. This stop added
249.00 to the Top 16 at the end of the year as we had
38 brackets of which 3.00 from each bracket goes into
the top 16, plus we had 9 new bowlers of which 10.00 form
the 25.00 fee goes into the Top 16. This gives us $379.00
after just 2 stops and with more bowlers this amount will
just go up.
The final match between Sean and Alan was just a battle
of 7-10 splits as Sean had 3 in a row. Sean made a ball
change and he was able to strike out in the 8th/9th/10th
to force Alan to do the same in the 9th and 10th. Sean
had posted his 203 and Alan could have struck out in the
10th for 204, but as Sean found out early in the match
the 7-10 was in play and Alan left the split on the first
ball in the 10th leaving him with 172 and 2nd place.
This was Sean's third time to win on the ASBT as he won
one the first year along with the Top 12 title the first
year.
Our next stop will be in Fort Smith at Bowling World on
Nov. 4th, and members will have until
Oct 31st to decide if they plan to bowl that stop.
Thanks again to all that bowled and hope to have 40 or
more in Fort Smith at the next stop.

We had 4 new bowlers at this stop and with our 50/50 pot
we raised $130.50 for the Top 16 tournament.
The 500.00 for a 300 game was safe again as neither Mike
or Alan was able to bowl a 300 in the final game, as McDonald's
of central AR is our 300 game sponsor.
Thanks to all and hope to see many of you at Jonesboro!
